The AquaSphere consortium is pleased to share an overview of the 2nd Peer Learning Event, held from 3 to 5 November 2025 at the Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) in Izmir, Turkey. Framed under the theme “Water, Wisdom, Innovation”, the event brought together academic, industrial, and entrepreneurial partners to strengthen collective capacities in water and maritime innovation.
Over three days, participants explored new pathways for enhancing academia-industry cooperation within the blue economy. Hosted by IZTECH, the program featured presentations on clean water sustainability, emerging technological solutions, and the development of startups contributing to innovation in water and maritime sectors. An interactive workshop enabled participants to collectively identify challenges, propose solutions, and highlight opportunities for deeper collaboration across the AquaSphere network.
The AquaSphere Project, “Empowering Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) Capabilities for Water and Maritime Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” is implemented by a consortium of six partners:

Through its peer-learning activities, training programs, and capacity-building actions, AquaSphere aims to deliver practical, scalable outputs that support the wider European innovation ecosystem, contributing to policies and strategies in the blue economy, water sustainability, and technology transfer fields.
