Successful Completion of the 1st Peer Learning Event of the AquaSphere Project

Chania, Crete — 4 July 2025

“Empowering Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) Capabilities for Water and Maritime Innovation and Entrepreneurship” The 1st Peer Learning Event of the AquaSphere Project was successfully held on 2–3 July 2025 at the Technical University of Crete, in Chania, Greece. Hosted by the coordinating institution of the AquaSphere consortium, the event gathered key partners, academic stakeholders, and members of the business and entrepreneurial communities.


Highlights of the Event

Over two days, participants engaged in a dynamic program aimed at strengthening institutional capacities in water and maritime innovation and entrepreneurship.

  • Key activities included:
    • Insightful presentations and case studies showcasing best practices in water management and innovation.
    • Visits to state-of-the-art laboratories at the Technical University of Crete, offering an inside look at ongoing scientific and technological developments.
    • Interactive discussions on challenges and opportunities in water sustainability, emphasizing the link between research and practical implementation.
    • Open dialogue with the community on 2 July, with active participation from students, staff, business representatives, and senior executives from the Samaria Water Management Company (including the President and the Commercial Director).
